Are there times in your life where you just don’t want to stop? You tell yourself: I love to workout. I love how I feel. I love how my body is changing. I don’t want to miss what I have achieved. If my body and mind would allow it, I would go twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. I hate to rest!
Can I tell you that In order to see the necessary changes in your body transformation, sleeping/resting its one of the most important things you should do.
For most of us, it’s hard to find balance between working out and sleep, Instead we choose to leave behind rest because it doesn’t feel like we’re accomplishing anything. So we workout harder, faster, and stronger to characterize our days.
Please remember: It takes time to see body changes, And just as discipline is important, so is sleep. Getting adequate sleep is also absolutely crucial when it comes to increasing muscle mass and improving performance.
A life without limits is a life of constant hurry, comparison, and underneath it all, a sense that we must always keep earning our worth. We think that working out harder and for longer hours would take us faster to what we want to achieve or reach and pass another person who seems more advanced than ourselves.
We ignore our limits. When we do, we find ourselves exhausted, anxious, and not living our life to the fullest.
Ask yourself these questions:
- What are my limits?
- Am I afraid of stopping?
- Do I tend to think that by doing more or hustle make me more stronger?
- How can I invite myself into resting as I respect my limits?
Rest gives our body time to recuperate, as we do this, we start our new day thinking better, feeling stronger and with a mind full of better visions. Resting has a purpose!
“Resting assures that you will have the strength to make it through to the end of the race rather than burning out after the first lap.”
Mikel French
To experience a more healthier and stronger body , we have to do these small and practical things too:
- Go to bed on time
- Pray in gratitude for the gift of our bodies that need sleep
- Choose not to obsess over how you look.
Next time you think about burning yourself out at the gym or whichever physical activity you perform without rest, read this blog one more time and go to sleep. You’ll experience an extraordinary difference!
